We recognise that your personal and financial circumstances are unique to you. We take the time to understand your circumstances and offer a range of services to meet your needs. Whether you require assistance with the administration of an estate, comprehensive estate and inheritance tax planning or simply need a will or lasting power of attorney, we are here to help you.
Probate and Estate Administration Services
We understand that when a loved one passes away and you are appointed as their executor or administrator, the responsibility of this challenging role comes at a difficult time.
We specialise in estate administration and are instructed in estates varying in complexity and value. Our clients, who are acting as an executor or administrator of an estate, often need assistance with the full administration whilst others just need support with the application for the Grant of Representation (Probate) and the completion of the inheritance tax forms.
We will provide you with an experienced and dedicated Relationship Manager who will guide you through the complexities of the estate administration process.
Estate Planning
We recognise that one of the main priorities for our clients is providing for the future financial wellbeing of their loved ones.
Our team are experienced in listening to your needs and providing solutions, so that you can pass on your wealth in a structured and tax efficient way. This is particularly important for clients looking to protect vulnerable family members.
You may also wish to make provision for charitable gifts during your lifetime or on death for causes close to your heart.
Will Drafting
Making a will provides certainty that your assets will pass in accordance with your wishes and will ease the burden on your loved ones on your death.
Whether you need a simple will or something more complex, we will discuss your circumstances with you and prepare a will that is tailored to your needs. This will give you comfort that your wishes will be carried out when you are no longer here.
Lasting Powers of Attorney
A Lasting Power of Attorney (‘LPA’) is a document that allows you to appoint one or more individuals or professionals (your Attorney(s)) to make decisions on your behalf when you are unable to make them yourself. There are two types of LPAs, one to cover property and finance and another for health and welfare.
Without an LPA, if you need someone to manage your finances in the future, the only other option is to apply to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship Order. This process can be complex, costly and time consuming and it is the court that decides who should step into this role.
Our team can prepare a Property & Financial Affairs LPA and a Health & Welfare LPA for you. This will give you peace of mind that your financial affairs will be dealt with, and your health and welfare wishes are followed, in your best interests, when you are unable to make these decisions. LPAs enable your chosen Attorney(s) to step in straight away when you need their support.
We will take time to fully explain the process of putting an LPA in place, including its registration, and how they work in practice, including your Attorney(s) duties.
Family Investment Companies (FICs)
These are companies which are established purely to manage your private wealth across a wide range of asset types such as cash, investment portfolios, property and private company shareholdings.
FICs can be set up as part of an estate planning solution and be designed to help with the transfer of wealth including to the next generation in a tax efficient manner.
Our team can provide you with advice on the set up of a FIC and its implications and tailor this to your specific circumstances as well as prepare all the necessary documentation.
