Douglas brings perspectives from both sides of the table, through his experience of advising trustees and corporate sponsors, as well as acting as a trustee.
He has acted as a trustee on pension schemes ranging in size from under £50 million to over £5 billion, encompassing both DB and DC benefits.
Douglas adopts a calm yet charismatic attitude focussed on building trusted relationships to work collaboratively towards the best outcome for schemes.
Douglas is a Client Director based in Edinburgh. He has worked in the pensions and investment industry for over 20 years.
In addition to working in both a global asset manager and the asset management team of a Bulk Purchase Annuity provider, Douglas is a qualified Actuary who has provided actuarial and investment advice to trustees and corporate sponsors of pension schemes.
This breadth and depth of knowledge and experience makes him ideally suited to working with schemes who are focused on achieving their long-term end-game objectives.
As a former adviser, Douglas knows how to work collaboratively with advisers and how to challenge constructively to ensure their advice is appropriate, cost-efficient, and delivers to meet the schemes’ objectives.
Douglas is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
