As Senior Tax Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant filing of the tax returns obligations for the Luxembourg entities. You will oversee due diligence on account holders, classifications, remediation, and annual tax preparations to the Luxembourg tax authorities (ACD), while partnering closely with Operations, Client Onboarding/KYC, Legal, and Technology to maintain robust end-to-end reporting controls during the cover period.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare and review Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Municipal Business Tax (MBT) returns for a portfolio of clients.
  • Review the tax work of other colleagues and act as contact person for corporate tax compliance technical issues within the Company.
  • Manage Net Wealth Tax (NWT) filings to the ‘Administration des Contributions Directes’ (ACD) within statutory deadlines.
  • Oversee VAT returns and related reporting (if applicable).
  • Ensure all tax filings are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Monitor tax deadlines and maintain a compliance calendar.
  • Calculate and review year-end tax provisions and ensure they align with Luxembourg accounting standards (Lux GAAP).
  • Liaise directly with the Luxembourg Inland Revenue (Administration des Contributions Directes – ACD) and handle correspondence or requests for information.
  • Review tax assessments issued by the authorities and reconcile tax accounts.
  • Collaborate in the process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Deliver targeted training/refreshers to onboarding and servicing teams on self-certifications, indicia, and documentation standards.
  • Promote culture of compliance, escalating risks or control breaks in a timely manner.

Knowledge & Experience

  • The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ hands-on experience with Tax returns preparation in financial services in Luxembourg, preferably in Big 4.
  • Solid understanding of Luxembourg implementation of Tax returns, reporting via ACD.
  • Extensive Tax knowledge, and reporting to the CSSF.
  • Strong data handling skills (Excel; comfort with large data sets, lookups, pivots; experience with XML validation tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to run end-to-end reporting cycles, manage timelines, and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Exposure to complex Indirect Tax matters in an international environment.
  • Experience with Luxembourg fund structures (UCITS, AIFs), custodians, and transfer agents.
  • Familiarity with KYC/AML frameworks and integration points with tax reporting.
  • Proficiency with Lux GAAP and tax software; strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Autonomous, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
