Appointing a Professional Executor to relieve the burden from family or friends

Acting as an Executor will soon become far more complex following changes planned to come into effect in April 2027, when unused pension funds will be included within a person’s estate for Inheritance Tax purposes.

More detailed information can be found in the factsheet entitled Changes to Inheritance Tax on Pensions.

The Executors named in your Will, will therefore be responsible for calculating, reporting and paying any Inheritance Tax due on these pension funds alongside the other assets in your estate.

We are honoured to act as Executor for thousands of clients who choose to appoint us as Executor in their Will and relieve their family and friends from this potential burden at a difficult time.

Our Zedra Legal Services award-winning team of probate experts provide empathy, support and technical expertise and clients can feel safe in the knowledge their affairs are handled by qualified and experienced probate practitioners.

They handle all aspects of the administration from the point of death to distribution to the beneficiaries including all necessary taxation and correspondence with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Zedra Trust Company can be appointed as Executor (and Trustee if there is a Trust in the Will) at no cost to you by drafting a Codicil to an existing Will as follows:

How much does the service cost?

As each estate differs, we feel that it is important to provide a bespoke fee quote that reflects the circumstances of the estate rather than charging a fee calculated as a percentage of the value of the estate.
