Juliette De Guelle shares her journey into client and business support, the lessons she’s learned, and why enthusiasm and authenticity matter.
How did you get into the industry?
By accident! I wanted to be a nurse, but after a year of business studies, I was offered a role in an accounting and trust services firm and the rest is history.
What has been a key learning in your career?
Never assume everyone knows what they’re doing. If you don’t understand something, chances are others don’t either. Just because someone is senior or seems confident doesn’t mean they’re always right. Everyone brings something different to the table, and those ideas are always valuable.
What would you say to someone considering a career in your industry?
Give it a go. It’s not easy, but there are so many roles to choose from, and they all need different skills. Enthusiasm and drive matter most.
You can learn the technical parts, but bringing your real self into the business makes the difference. And it’s not just sitting at a desk. A big part of the job is working with people, which can be challenging but also really rewarding.
What are the opportunities and challenges you’re seeing in the industry?
Recruiting good team members is tough because of the employment market in Jersey. But at ZEDRA, we’ve built a caring culture where we support each other and really listen. That’s helped us create a team of committed, hardworking people who look out for one another every day.
