ZEDRA is proud to announce that Jacqueline Shek from its Hong Kong office has been named Chairman of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association (“HKTA”).
With more than 25 years’ history, HKTA is the representative body for the trust industry in Hong Kong, particularly in the areas of legislation and education. It is a not-for-profit organisation with more than 100 corporate members, and represents thousands of people working in and supporting the trust, pensions, private banking and asset management industry. The goals of HKTA are to promote the highest standards of professionalism, corporate governance and regulatory compliance amongst local Trust practitioners. The Association also has a focus on education and enhancing the knowledge of practitioners through relevant trust accreditation and training programmes.
Jacqui has been elected chairman of the 13 members Executive Committee which leads the HKTA. The Executive Committee is elected by the members of the Association to represent them. The Association is very active in engaging in dialogues and making submissions on draft legislation and regulatory proposals on behalf of members to relevant government departments and advisory panels.
Jacqui says: “The HKTA is at the forefront in shaping the trust industry in Hong Kong and I am honoured to be chairing the Association. The Association represents members across the spectrum of the trust industry from private wealth management, to corporate funds and pension trustees. In the ever changing economic and regulatory environment, it is important that the HKTA is articulate to ensure that regulatory, tax and legal changes serve to enhance our trust industry and stay relevant to the trustees.”
Congratulations to Jacqui on her appointment.
