How did you get into the industry?

I have been working within financial services since I was 19, having started my career in Jersey. Growing up there, finance was very much part of the professional landscape, so it felt like a natural and accessible path.

What began as an early opportunity with Barclays’ trust business has developed into a long term career with ZEDRA following the acquisition of that business.

This has allowed me to grow alongside the clients and families I work with.

What has been a key learning in your career?

Relationship building is at the heart of effective wealth planning. Taking the time to understand clients, their families and their long term objectives is essential.

These strong relationships allow us to provide advice that’s not only technically sound but genuinely aligned with what matters most to the people we work with.

What would you say to someone considering a career in your industry?

The trust services and private wealth industry is constantly changing. No two clients are the same and with evolving regulations across jurisdictions, there is always something new to learn.

For anyone who enjoys variety, problem solving and working closely with clients, it can be a very interesting and rewarding career.

What are the opportunities and challenges you’re seeing in the industry?

Stricter regulation across the trust and fiduciary industry globally is making our role more important than ever, particularly in ensuring clients do not fall foul of reporting or compliance requirements.

At the same time, the current political and economic climate has prompted many private families to review how their wealth is structured. These are important opportunities to help protect and manage assets effectively for future generations.
