ZEDRA’s Deputy Chairman, Bart Deconinck joined the of the Dutch Business Round Table (DBRT) ’Elevator Pitch Contest’ in Geneva last week as Chairman of the Jury.
The event brought together a select group of entrepreneurial start-ups were whittled down to six individual participants with each battling it out to give their three minute “pitch” to the distinguished panel in front of a live audience as succinctly and convincingly as possible.
Established in 1995, DBRT offers a networking platform to the Dutch business community in Switzerland and promotes business relations between Switzerland and the Netherlands.
A select group of entrepreneurial start-ups were whittled down to six individual participants with each battling it out to give their three minute “pitch” to the distinguished panel as succinctly and convincingly as possible.
The range of participants ranged from an augmented reality firm to an employment screening solutions programme.
The winner, Daan van Well, who presented a well-crafted pitch for à BLOC – a craft beer made for cyclists –won the jury over for his innovativeness, thought process and business acumen.
“Daan’s value proposition, drive and passion for his product impressed me and more importantly made me want to learn more,” says Bart. “The ‘Elevator Pitch Contest is a clever and useful tool which can be used in a number of situations from chance meetings to serious investment meetings.”
