14 December 2020
Juggling study and work in lockdown: HR Coordinator Amie Crowther-Bali shares her story.
Following a role in HR in a large Hertfordshire headquartered facilities services provider, Amie joined ZEDRA in February 2019 as the second member of its growing HR team. Amie more recently gained a level 5 Diploma in HR Management and talks us through how her study is already benefiting her clients.
How did you first hear about us?
I first heard about ZEDRA whilst looking on a job board and then decided to explore the website. Once I had reviewed the website, I felt that ZEDRA was a very interesting place that would suit me very well.
What is your current role?
HR Coordinator – I work with multiple clients on a daily basis advising on UK HR employment matters and coordinating international HR services alongside employee benefits.
What was your first day like?
My first day was very exciting, everything was very structured, all the required training was put in place and my equipment was all ready to go. This was really handy and ensured that the rest of the day ran smoothly and I could jump straight into my new role. I was also taken out for a beautiful welcome lunch which really made me feel like ZEDRA London invested in their employees.
What surprised you most about us?
The amazing culture and how well organised everything was. Working for ZEDRA is like being part of a big family, which is a great environment!
What do you like most about your day to day job?
I love that every single day in the HR team is different and unexpected. We receive many different queries relating to multiple areas of employment law and employee benefits which can be really interesting and provide a great variety to our daily working life. My management team are also incredible and make my day to day life so easy and enjoyable.
What sort of clients do you have?
A real mixed bag, including many employers in the tech industry and medical industry. Our clients are based all over the globe across multiple time zones and with varying requirements.
How has your role changed since you joined?
Since joining, I have been entrusted with lots of responsibilities including project management, invoicing, updating client documentation and lots of other fun stuff!
How has your study benefited your clients?
By choosing to study my CIPD, I have been able to broaden my knowledge which has allowed me to provide the best advice possible to our clients.
What advice would you give someone trying to decide whether to join ZEDRA – particularly in HR?
Be yourself and if you are looking to join a close-knit team that genuinely cares about each other, then this is the place for you. The HR team in particular, whilst small, has a great bunch of characters with an extensive knowledge base where you can learn a lot.
