Trust Associate Director

As Associate Director, you will act in a supportive role to members of the senior leadership team, to lead the day to day client facing activity ensuring this is aligned to and promotes the business’ strategy and culture. You will also be responsible for growing your own portfolio of clients by actively engaging in business development activities.
The role will centre around servicing existing and new clients as the business grows. This will encompass all client servicing aspects from on-boarding new clients and ensuring client files are up to date and compliant through to client dealing processes and managing regular communications regarding holding data and product updates.
As Associate Director, you will promote ZEDRA and our business objectives, whilst driving morale by providing support and guidance (technical and otherwise) to your team. You will also have direct responsibility and accountability for delivery of risk and operational targets and key risk indicators for your team’s portfolio of clients.

Key Accountabilities
- Ensure high quality service to all clients intermediaries and stakeholders to ensure longevity of relationships, providing technical and other support to their team
- Interact directly with their clients and be responsible for client communication and the statutory maintenance of their own portfolio, working to identify client needs and drive up levels of client service as well as activity seeking to identify new business opportunities
- Work with the Senior Manager/Manager to ensure they deliver client commitments to agreed deadlines and to a high standard
- Provide support to the Senior Manager/Manager for client relationships within their team and will be expected to ensure regular client contact via a combination of written, verbal and face to face communication.
- With the Director, be responsible for generating new business opportunities and conversion into new clients, as well as having overall responsibility for the on boarding of new client relationships, ensuring client service levels are exemplary
- Review the BD strategy document as in conjunction with the Director, will be a reference point on technical and other matters and will seek to nurture and develop existing, new and emerging product lines.
- Support the Director to understand and act upon the profitability of their team’s client book by reviewing and controlling WIP, ensuring prompt collection of fees and highlighting revenue opportunities. They will work with and support the Senior Manager/Manager to build understanding and familiarity with the working capital cycle and prompt collection of debts.
- Ensure all statutory records and company registers are maintained in good order as well as ensuring any relevant filings are made within appropriate deadlines.
- Use technical capability to identify and mitigate risk within the team’s client book, escalating where necessary and required in accordance with policies.
- Support the Senior Manager/Manager in leading their team effectively and drive performance of the business and ZEDRA
- Demonstrate effective communication, an ability to challenge and to prioritise, ensuring the objectives and initiatives cascaded from senior management are delivered against deadlines.
- Be responsible for providing regular technical and professional coaching to the wider teams to ensure that they are kept up to date with any regulatory, legal or tax changes that impact their work and that they are aware of the wider impact of both opening and closing clients.
Knowledge and Experience
- Have significant industry experience of working with High Net Worth clients and on complex structures within the fiduciary field (10+ years’ experience)
- Demonstrate first class client service delivering against the needs and demands of high net worth clients both from prior experience and through driving the performance of others.
- Have experience of business development and be able to demonstrate excellent technical competency and an ability to impart that knowledge to others effectively.
- Have a sound knowledge of current issues affecting structures and the clients for whom we act and be expected to have a good understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Group operates.
- Have some knowledge of accounting and financial statement review process
- Demonstrable experience of leading, coaching and supporting colleagues and prior managerial experience of Senior Manager/Manager level and below is essential.
- Act in a supportive role to the Senior Manager/ Manager in the management of their team and will coach and guide the Senior Manager/Manager in developing their own supervisory skills.
- Work closely and support the Director, stepping in when required at a more senior level.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification (such as STEP, ICSA/ACCA or ACA or similar), and to be educated to A-Level standards, or equivalent.
