We’re looking for a Senior Fund Operations Manager to join ZEDRA and manage the day to day operations of the Fund Services business in Guernsey, ensuring a high-quality service is provided to all clients. As Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing a high-quality professional team capable of delivering the highest quality service within an appropriate risk and control framework.

You will be expected to work closely with the Head of Funds Operations, Guernsey in delivering the strategic vision for the funds services business and will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence and the seamless implementation of new funds business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Complete ownership of all day-to-day aspects of the fund operational/administration service for all clients
  • This will include oversight and hands-on involvement with the following administrative tasks; NAV production; bookkeeping and accounting; investor take-on and transfer agency; CDD (initial and periodic), amongst other tasks;
  • Supervision of the fund administration team, providing technical support and motivation to the team
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients, client advisers, auditors, custodian, regulator, etc.
  • Support the Head of Funds Operations with relationship management of clients, investors and internal stakeholders
  • Oversee the Fund Services operational service model on an ongoing basis to ensure that it continues to deliver work product within a robust risk and control framework for the business
  • Work alongside the senior staff on new business development opportunities as appropriate
  • Work to implement new business opportunities and to design and implement new operating service models for new business (service requirements, process flows, operating manual)
  • Continual appraisal and improvement of operating model to increase efficiency and control
  • Ad hoc technical / regulatory project work as required

Knowledge & Experience

  • Significant operational knowledge of all aspects of pooled investment funds (dealing, pricing, AML, investor reporting, accounting etc.), having a solid background in fund administration / fund accounting;
  • An excellent understanding of the regulatory environment in which regulated funds operate;
  • Experience of various different fund types (corporate, trust, LP, PCCs etc), preferably with exposure to numerous jurisdictions including Guernsey;
  • Experience of dealing with detailed Compliance and Risk issues within a business environment; experience of dealing directly with 1 or more fund regulator would be an advantage;
  • A good understanding of AML principles as they apply to pooled investment funds (clients and investors);
  • Clear understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply this knowledge on a day to day basis;
  • Experience of leading and managing teams in a fund administration business or other relevant business including conducting thorough appraisals and overseeing development plans in line with the competency framework;
  • Client facing experience at a senior level;
  • Comfortable interacting with the most senior levels of management within the business;
  • Successful career track record.
