We are looking for an experienced audit Responsible Individual (RI) with 5 plus year’s RI experience, to lead a growing audit team alongside a team of other directors and RI’s. The candidate must be personable with strong communication and leadership skills.

The individual will be recognised as a leader promoting the company and our business objectives whilst driving morale by providing support and guidance (technical and otherwise) to their team. They will have direct responsibility and accountability for developing processes and systems within the department, the delivery of risk and operational targets and key performance indicators for their department.

As a member of the Leadership Team, regular cross collaboration and involvement in discussing firm wide matters and company initiatives will be key, expressing own opinion and ideas and taking ownership of projects to implement change. Be a statutory director of the audit business and take on the role of Audit Compliance Principal

Excellent client service and process delivery will be key to being successful in this role.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for a mixed portfolio of corporate clients ranging in size and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Lead the audit team on the formulation of audit strategy and planning.
  • Showing vision and strategic perspective to grow the team, focusing on the achievement of both short-term and longer term goals.
  • Emphasis on audit quality, ethics and compliance.
  • Proactive in undertaking business development activities, for example (but not limited to) domestic and international networking, attending and speaking at internal and external events and conferences.
  • Identifying and capitalising on opportunities and prospects for new work.
  • Actively involved audit tenders and proposals.
  • Leading the appraisal and development of each individual team member.
  • Mentoring and directly appraising individuals at manager level.
  • Delivery of departmental budget for inclusion in wider group reporting.
  • Monitoring revenue, EBITDA, billing and efficiencies across the audit portfolio.
  • Delivery of internal monthly revenue figures for inclusion in wider group reporting.
  • Identifying the requirement for and leading the implementing of recruitment.
  • Ability to liaise with other directors across the practice to implement a holistic strategic plan.
  • Statutory director for the audit business.
  • Completion of regulatory reporting requirements.

Knowledge and Experience

Experience

  • Current RI with 5 plus year’s RI experience.
  • Ideally experience of using CaseWare audit software.
  • Ideally experience with international relationships and clients that have expanded to the UK via inward investment.
  • UK GAAP and IFRS experience. Knowledge of US GAAP useful, but not completely necessary.

Attributes/Technical Skills

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Good communication both internally and externally.
  • Strong technical ability and up-to-date with audit and accounting updates and changes on the horizon.
  • Ability to work closely with other directors to develop the audit team.

Managerial Experience

  • The role holder will have demonstrable experience in leading, coaching, and supporting colleagues and have prior senior managerial experience. They will be able to act as a thought leader in their team and know how to drive consistencies and efficiencies through their team with 10 years+ relevant experience.

Educational and Professional Qualification

Ideally the candidate would be ACA qualified (or equivalent) although ACCA qualified candidates will be considered.
