The Probate and Estates team is an important part of our Active Wealth offering, and our UK team is led from our Manchester office. Aligned to our exciting growth globally, we are expanding our team in the UK including our Probate and Estates team.
Manageable caseloads for compassionate delivery
Our collaborative and inclusive Probate and Estates team are seeking a Probate Officer or Senior Probate Officer with 3+ years’ experience to join our growing UK practice. With this next step in your career, you’ll enjoy manageable caseloads while our clients receive the compassionate and first-class service they deserve.
Purpose of role
This role will take full responsibility for the end-to-end administration of a book of executorship/probate cases while providing a first-class service to beneficiaries. You will also be required to service some executorship appointments following the death of a client. This will include explaining our service, where possible in a face-to-face interview with beneficiaries, and collecting and collating the financial paperwork of the deceased.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Acting as executor or supporting a lay executor
- Completing all probate application documents and IHT forms
- Driving matters to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of service/legal documents
- Travel for face-to-face meetings with beneficiaries and third parties, as required
- Together with other members of the team, actively identify and implement business initiatives for process improvement
Knowledge & Experience
- 3 or more years’ probate administration experience
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently but being mindful that you are part of a team.
- Excellent client relationship/communication skills
- Good administration and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and deliver multi tasks to deadline
- Time management and interpersonal skills
