The ZEDRA Group is authorized by the MFSA to provide corporate services to Companies, to act as trustee and/or administrator of private foundations as well as provide fiduciary services. Amongst others, the Group assists international clients with the provision of legal, accounting and tax related services.

ZEDRA is currently looking to expand its Accounting Team and is seeking to recruit a Corporate Accountant to complement a team of professionals supporting this function and taking care of the accounting requirements of a portfolio of clients.

Key Accountabilities

The responsibilities include primarily the following:

  • Assisting with the review of the book-keeping of client entities and preparation of financial statements;
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and assistance with the refund process;
  • Acting as relationship person with the clients;
  • Keeping abreast of the accounting and regulatory developments taking place locally;
  • Drafting accounting policies and procedures where necessary;
  • Coordination with and liaising with Authorities, auditors and other third parties in Malta;
  • Determining and timely managing matters of top priority and handling such matters accordingly; and
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Directors.

Skills & Experience

The preferred candidates for this position should preferably:

  • Demonstrate an awareness of and adherence to procedural and regulatory requirements ensuring best practice is followed and demonstrate a professional approach to all aspects of the role.
  • Able to use judgement and initiative in applying standard work practices and solving day to day problems.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Be in a possession of a recognised degree in accountancy.
  • Be fluent in English and an understanding of other languages is desirable.
  • Be expected to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively within both the Malta team and the wider ZEDRA business.
