Purpose of Role
This is a key new hire as part of our plans for opening an office in New York and comes 10 years after we opened our office in San Francisco. The Global Expansion Executive will start by supporting the launch of the new office in Manhattan. After a successful launch, and with support from colleagues from London, UK and from the US, the Executive will be responsible for promoting ZEDRA’s Global Expansion services to the New York based network of professionals.
Primarily, the role comprises: promoting ZEDRA Global Expansion services to prospective clients, professional networks and international trade organisations in and around New York, seeking out new relationships, contacts and opportunities for tax, payroll, HR, accounting, auditing and related services for the UK and other territories.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the New York office and promoting the ZEDRA Global Expansion services.
The main objectives are:
• Business Development
Initiating and supporting US based business development and marketing efforts including
• Client Management
Point of contact for US based clients on urgent issues, responding to queries and identifying further business development opportunities
Guiding clients and prospective clients on basic considerations of setting up in the UK (and, in time, Europe)
• US Office
Significant involvement in the office launch, helping to promote and publicise using own networks
Dealing with matters relating to the US office, including its administration, filings with authorities and other day to day operational items
Knowledge and Experience
Client experience and long term relationships are key to our approach. This role provides considerable opportunity for the successful candidate to grow into the role and increase their profile in New York. The candidate will typically be from a professional services background and looking for the next exciting challenge in their career, working with exceptional clients and people.
It will be essential for the candidate to communicate effectively and have an existing network of contacts and relationships with the following:
- C-suite executives within fast growing businesses across all sectors
- Senior partners/executives in legal, consultancy and accountancy businesses
- Representatives of trade and government trade organisations
The candidate will require experience of representing their organisation at executive level, networking and promoting professional services, with a drive to secure new clients.
This is currently a lone role in New York with support from the UK. Whilst the UK executive team will visit New York regularly (once travel restrictions are lifted) the candidate needs to be comfortable with remote working, flexible with the hours and morning start times (to align with London) and prepared to deal with administrative tasks themselves.
